"An amazing trainer! I signed up with Jan, as someone who has never exercised, and as a 40 something, had a shocking back from previous childbirths, and complications associated to that. Jan did a health assessment, made sure I was completely committed, food assessment, developed exercises specifically targeting the areas I needed the most help with, and we booked in for a session at her home gym. I was nervous but she explained and demonstrated every exercise as we went along...and it was hard, don't expect her to go easy! But over the weeks and months I've gotten fitter my back issue has improved massively and I class her as a friend, we have a natter as I puff my way through the workouts! I would highly recommend her as a trainer."

She plans sessions to my specific requirements and adapts them when I've got a race coming up. She also supports me with my nutrition. During lockdown, she has even trained me over Skype and has kept me in shape throughout. She is super flexible with timings to help me fit training into my working week. She works to goals that we set together, mixes up workouts, and pushes me just enough. She's full of suggestions and tips and stays in touch to help keep me motivated. "Writing a review of Jan has to be timed well. If you asked me for a review toward the end of a 'bike cardio' session or on the 5th sprint up Slaithwaite Road, I would be asked to wash my mouth out with soap. An hour later, or on jumping out of bed the next morning, you would find me beaming from ear to ear and so very thankful that Jan pushed me that little bit harder and didn't allow me to give up too early. She has destroyed the complacent me and replaced me with someone driven and determined."

Jan has been absolutely amazing as a personal trainer. I suffer from various joint conditions including hyper mobility and she has spent time developing a specialised programme for me to follow, which has enabled me to build core strength without me finishing up on the floor in a heap at the end of a session - which was generally the case before! I'm feeling so much better now and her encouragement and constant development of the exercises I'm doing, have also kept me on track and motivated - previous gym memberships were a waste of good wine money! Jan's a hard task mistress, but brilliant at what she does and since she comes to my house to do my classes there's no excuses anymore.......

"From my very first PT session Jan has always planned a fantastic programme for me, tailored exactly to my needs. She also gave me in depth information about my diet and how to improve it. 4 months down the line and I feel amazing. Yes, it sounds like a cliche, but its true. I eat healthily, I am putting on muscle and I love going to the gym. I even attend some week nights on my own, which I used to believe I would never ever do. Jan contacts me regularly to make sure I am keeping well and eating properly. I cannot stress enough how much this has changed my life. I am so pleased I made the decision to work with Jan. I no longer skip meals, I eat healthy food that I enjoy (yes it is possible) and I am becoming more and more proud of my body.

"Jan is an absolute fab PT she got me back into shape 2 years ago and I've just started back at my first PT session today. She will push you when you think you can't do more she always plans sessions with exercises/circuits that she knows would suit you and actually enjoy. If you're like me and you do exercise/circuits you don't like and would just give up too easily, Jan makes it fun enjoyable. A few swear words may slip my lips but I know she means well and gets me to where I want to be."

"This review is long overdue!!! I trained with Jan for about 2 months twice a week. My specific aims were fat loss, muscle gain, increased cardio fitness and correct form in the gym. Jan helped me achieve all these things and helped to make working out part of my weekly routine not a chore. I got workout plans for the sessions and then Jan made ones for me to do on my own. If you are on the fence I'd say go for it, having a trainer is the best decision I made as it helps keep you accountable and you learn that slogging you ass off on cardio machines is not the way. I was fed up of being either skinny fat or slightly overweight. Now I have some strength. Don't expect miracles if you don't workout yourself aswell. Progress is not meant to be super fast."

"I've been going to the gym for a while but I knew I wasn't really pushing myself because I really had no idea what I was doing - that's where Jan came in! She gave me the kick up the backside that I needed to really push myself during a workout and has also given me a bunch of knowledge about the equipment and which muscles are being used when doing an exercise.
